running on fumes

Stephen called this morning to ask if I could put some money on his inmate phone account so he can receive calls from James Prindle, and I have had to put him off for a day or so. Our account for such expenses is very low right now and a couple promised gifts from Europe have been delayed by transaction glitches.

My monthly check will arrive tomorrow, which will allow me to do a robbing-Peter-to-pay-Paul maneuver so that James will not be disappointed when he calls Stephen again on Friday… but this is small change in the whole scheme of things.

We have at least $2,000 of expenses coming due in the next two weeks (a $1,600 progress payment to James’ attorney, books and commissary for Alex King, more confiscatory prison phone charges, etc.) that we do not yet have in hand to continue doing our important work.

If you are in a position to help us financially in a large way or small (or something in between), we need your assistance at this time as we are running on fumes. Will you please consider making a gift through PayPal and direct it to info-at-wandervogel-dot-com?

Your help will make a big difference in the lives of these kids who have no one else but us to rely upon.

Thank you!

I’ve tried to give a little something a couple of times but get an error from paypal: Email Address: Please enter a valid address in the format name@domain.com.

Am I doing something wrong? What is the exact domain name or e-mail address? Thanks.

Karen, our PayPal account is associated with the e-mail address info@wandervogel.com

Please let me know if you have continuing problems. One of the transaction glitches I mentioned in the blog is a European reader having problems making the transfer through PayPal.

One time can be an anomoly. Two times is a pattern.

      Thanks!

I will certainly help as soon as my finances can afford. I get my retirement check monthly and only have about $30 in my account for the remainder of the month so will have to wait until next month to assist.
I added this message to a reply to one of your earlier posts. Not sure if you will catch it so I will post it again here:

Maybe if someone could consider creating a petition on this site http://www.change.org/
about Alex’s dilemma (or any of the other children) it would most certainly bring national attention to this issue. I am not very experienced at doing this or I would do it myself. It could be widely circulated for signatures via email, Facebook, etc. It could also then be brought to the attention to Florida state officials, as well as officials in applicable states. I have signed petitions on this site and many have become extrememly successful.

Hey Dan, hope the little we were able to send from this side recently of the globe was a help. Will try & get some more together by the end of the month for James (hopefully the “Gregory” from the Kindergarten audit will be through by then). Will be seeing some of The Gang over the week-end & will see what we can “rustle up”. Cheers for now. £x.

G’day Dan, your comment “one time, etc.” (reply to Karen) seems to be an adaptation of Oscar Wilde’s quote (The Importance of being Earnest) – “To lose one parent may be regarded as a misfortune… to lose both seems like carelessness”. Well quoted. Cheers (again). £x.

Dan, where do I send my contribution?
    Peace, Tom Ramsay
