You gave me my smile for the day with this entry. Whenever asked, “What do you want for your birthday?” Peter would reply, “$1 million in small unmarked bills and a Lamborghini.” Today he would have been 40, and I’d give that and more if he were here to celebrate.

Suzi, it seems so hard to believe that Peter would have been 40 today. He will always be 26 to me. And once again, what a strange coincidence that I would have chosen this of all days to have posted this piece. I did not realize today is Peter’s birthday and you’ve never told me this story before. It affirms my belief that the dead remain among us and do their subtle work through us, whether we are conscious of it or not. I’m glad this brought a smile on this bittersweet anniversary.
