Two daughters of Virginia, each with soaring singing careers in the early 1960s.
One’s career is cut short at age 30 in a fatal plane crash.
The other’s is cut short at age 20 by motherhood.
One great song recorded about four decades apart, just months before each artist’s death.

Grooves of the Day
Listen to Patsy Cline performing “Sweet Dreams”
.

Odd, I’d never heard of Janis Martin; a fine performance. Guess I’ll have to do some research. In my mind, that song will always be the essence of Patsy Cline.
You will find that she was being billed as the “Female Elvis” because of her onstage physical moves, which she had developed independent (and unaware of) Elvis’. She always thought of herself as a rockabilly rocker, not so much a country singer. Janis had to be talked into performing “Sweet Dreams” by her producer. I’m glad it worked, because Janis’ performance of that song puts a lump in my throat.
