introspection

glowing-hand-copy1.

I have done plenty of bad things in my life, but I am fortunate to have lived long enough to have expiated most of them from my character. There are some people—like Angelina, of recent commenting fame—who must think that I am a pretty sorry sack of shit, but I’m too old to care what they think.

In my natural state, I live apart from other people. My property is paid off. I make my own power. I share what I control. I’m a happy man. I’m not too much of a burden on society. I’m doing the best I can.

I have discovered the runes as my scientific view of how the Universe works. I am a reincarnationist and believe that you get unlimited second chances to get it right. Since 1986 and I made a trip to Switzerland to discover the work of Frank Buchman, I adopted the belief that four moral imperatives govern our right-dealings with other people. To these four values I added a fifth—Absolute Loyalty—to define the actions of a “Decent Human Being.”

Because the opposable thumb allows us to use tools and uniquely define ourselves as human beings, I have conferred on this digit the absolute value of Loyalty.

I preach these values and beliefs to anyone who will listen, and am not particularly concerned by anyone who thinks I am off-base—but I’ll keep my distance from these people, too.

To use a computer term I haven’t heard for years: WYSIWYG.

“What you see is what you get.”

At the interview for the job I’ve now had for many years, I was asked “What do you want to tell us that you haven’t told us already?”, and my response (having made a couple of forthright responses already) was “What you see is what you get.”
